FAQ
Short answers to the questions we hear most.
Do I need to install an SDK?
No. Attribution runs on your tracking links plus the RevenueCat webhook. There's one optional first-launch snippet — a single fetch, not an SDK — that makes matches exact.
Does it work without the snippet?
Yes — you still get attribution and billing from the webhook. The snippet just raises matches to the highest confidence by carrying the exact click through to the purchase.
How fast does data appear?
Clicks are recorded instantly. Conversions arrive as RevenueCat delivers the webhook — typically within seconds of the purchase.
What counts as a conversion?
A purchase or trial start tied to one of your ad clicks, counted once per customer. Renewals and organic conversions are never billed. See Billing.
Does it support iOS and Android?
Both. Links detect the platform and route to the right store, and matching respects the platform on each side.
Can I run multiple apps?
Yes. Each app has its own links, webhook and token, all under one organization and one bill.
How do I test before going live?
Use RevenueCat sandbox purchases (TestFlight or a sandbox tester). Sandbox events are shown and tagged, but never billed or counted in production. See RevenueCat.
What about refunds?
A refund subtracts from attributed revenue, so your totals always reflect net revenue.
What data do you use for matching?
A coarse set of privacy-safe device and network signals with short retention — never precise location or cross-app advertising identifiers. See Privacy.
